Attention: Beware of Digital Marketing Scam in Malaysia

Beware of Online Scammers Disguised as Digital Marketing Agencies in Malaysia

In an increasingly digital world, job scams have evolved to become more convincing — and unfortunately, more damaging. Scammers are now impersonating real marketing agencies, including Rozzario, to trick unsuspecting individuals into parting with their money under the guise of legitimate “work-from-home” opportunities.

If you’ve been approached via WhatsApp, Telegram, or Messenger with a digital part-time job offer that sounds too good to be true — it probably is.

Let’s break down how this scam works — and what you can do to protect yourself.

How Does This Scam Work?

1. It Starts with a Message

You receive an unsolicited job offer through a communication app like WhatsApp, Telegram, Messenger, or even SMS. The message usually says you can earn money daily by completing simple “online marketing” tasks — no prior experience required.

2. Daily Rewards on Task Completion

You’re told that you will receive commissions of RM50–RM200 per day by “helping brands improve visibility.” Often, the job involves boosting e-commerce products by making purchases or “simulated transactions” — which the company promises to fully refund, with added commission.

3. They Add You Into a Group Chat

To appear legitimate, the scammer adds you to a group chat filled with other “workers” who appear to be making money and posting success screenshots. These are fake accounts operated by the scammer — a psychological trick to gain your trust.

4. They Ask You to Pay First

Once you agree to participate, you’re asked to make a small purchase on behalf of a merchant. You’re assured that your payment will be reimbursed immediately, along with a commission. At first, this might even happen — to build trust.

5. Then the Amount Increases

Soon, the task amounts increase. You’re told your “tasks” require larger purchases. The scammer promises even higher returns — but only after a final payment is made to “unlock” your commission.

6. Then… Silence

Once you’ve sent in a significant amount (like the student who lost RM5,500), the scammer stops responding. You’re unable to contact anyone. The group chat disappears. And your money is gone.

As reported by World of Buzz, a local university student was lured into this exact trap. She thought she landed a digital marketing role with daily commissions but ended up losing over RM5,000 to fake task-based payments that were never returned.

What You Should Do

Do Your Research

Always cross-check the company name with official websites, social media pages, and LinkedIn listings. Contact the company directly if you’re unsure.

Never Wire Money or Share Personal Information

No legitimate company will ever ask you to pay upfront to earn money. If you’re asked to send money first, it’s a red flag.

📝 File a Report

If you’ve fallen victim to a scam, report it to local authorities such as:

  • Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM)
  • National Scam Response Centre (NSRC): 997
  • CyberSecurity Malaysia

Important Note from ROZZARIO

Rozzario does not employ anyone to recruit through messaging platforms such as WhatsApp, Telegram, or SMS.

All hiring or internship opportunities at Rozzario are officially posted on:

If anyone claims to represent Rozzario on an unofficial platform or asks for money in exchange for a job opportunity — it is a scam.

Stay Alert, Stay Safe

These scams are becoming more sophisticated — but with awareness and the right information, you can avoid becoming a victim. Spread the word, educate your friends and family, and report any suspicious activity.
